From frustration,
we built the solution.
This isn't just our story. It's the story of every designer who's ever doubted themselves.
In early 2023, Athul Anil was already a working product designer building complex internal tools for companies.
But when it came to building his own portfolio, he hit a wall.
A blank Figma canvas. No real projects. Just overthinking, perfectionism, and silence.
He didn't need another course explaining "what a user journey is." He needed real work. Real feedback. Real accountability.
But that system didn't exist.
So he built it.
Portfolio Builders started as a simple free community to solve one brutally common problem:
